Fundraising for Engagement

  About the Program

Today, fundraising is a core business strategy for institutional success. Virginia Tech is pleased to present Fundraising for Engagement, in Roanoke, Virginia, home of the Engagement Academy for University Leaders, endorsed by AASCU, CUMU, and APLU. This program is designed for executives that have the ability to influence or participate in fundraising activities and emphasizes the importance of securing internal and external resources.

This unique executive development program is designed for leaders and teams responsible for developing institutional capacity for fundraising for community engagement. Participants will develop institutional plans for fundraising and will return to their campuses with the ability to advance the plan for engagement as well as effectively link community engagement to the teaching, research, and service missions of the institution.

The program is especially designed for those professionals currently in, newly appointed to, or aspiring to the following positions:

  • Vice President/Provost for Outreach, Extension or Engagement
  • Associate Vice Provosts/Presidents for Outreach, Extension or Engagement
  • Directors responsible for student engagement, service-learning, continuing education, economic development or community partnerships
  • Deans, department heads, faculty
  • Vice President for Institutional Advancement
  • Directors responsible for major gifts, regional or college-based development activities
