Today, fundraising is a core business strategy for institutional success. Virginia Tech is pleased to present Fundraising for Engagement: Leveraging Internal and External Resources for Institutional Engagement on June 11-13, 2010, in Roanoke, Virginia, home of the Engagement Academy for University Leaders, endorsed by AASCU, CUMU, and APLU (formerly NASULGC).
This executive development program combines hands-on planning, intense interaction with key leaders in fundraising and engagement and is designed to build institutional capacity for fundraising for engagement. Executives or teams will return to their campus with a concrete plan for fundraising and with:
- Strategies to link engagement to the overall institutional plan and elevate the priority of engagement as an internal priority
- Strategies to create mutually beneficial relationships between engagement and advancement staff
- Understanding of the unique cultures of engagement and advancement and how to cross and maneuver these cultural boundaries
- Plan for moving a shared engagement-advancement agenda forward on your campus.
This program is designed for executive leaders or institutional teams responsible for developing fundraising plans for engagement that are linked to the institutional missions and strategic plan, specifically, administrators in or newly appointed to the following positions:
- Vice President/Provost for outreach, extension or engagement
- Associate Vice Provosts/Presidents for outreach, extension or engagement, directors responsible for student engagement, service-learning, continuing education, economic development or community partnerships
- Deans, department heads, faculty
- Vice President for institutional advancement, directors responsible for major gifts, regional or college-based development activities .
